Cave Chopper
About:
Remake in pico-8 of a game I made a long time ago. Let me know what you think!
Controls:
Left/Right - Guide Helicopter / Select Helicopter on Intro screen
Z - Fly up
X - Shoot
Up/Down - Can aim rockets upward or downward
Unlock more helicopters at 2000,3000, and 4000 high score. This is pretty easy to obtain once you learn your way around the map a little bit.
Todo:
-Improve map
-Possibly add music
-Clean up code

i like the concept alot... the gameplay is a bit too chaotic at first and its very hard.
Thanks for the comment! I agree it's pretty hard at first, and probably unnecessarily so. I initially had it as more of a linear map and more smoothly introduce some of the harder navigation / areas. I tried to keep that a little and have it easier at the top than the bottom. So maybe I should do a linear easy area before it gets to sort of "hub" area where you can roam free and choose a path. And make it easier overall with a handful of "challenge" areas.
